Custom Web Design and Development

Building websites that power your business goals

Our Approach to Building a Website
That Works for You

These days, everyone knows a “guy” - or in this case a “girl” - who can help with a website design. While that’s great, it can also be a bit overwhelming when you’re trying to figure out who’s the right fit for your website design and development project.

Our approach is simple: We want your website to be the central hub for your target audiences. We think about how it can help you streamline lead generation, sales, customer communication, support, and even back-office things like bill payments, account information, and more.

We have experience with everything from simple web development projects for lead-generating marketing websites on WordPress to fully customized web-based applications that integrate with ERP software systems, house sales information, customer dashboards, customer-specific portals, and more. The goal is to build a website that works for your business goals.

Why We Use WordPress

For nearly all of our clients, we use WordPress to help build and run their sites. WordPress is one of the most user-friendly website-building applications with seamless integrations and plugins, such as Beaver Builder and Elementor.

These applications provide simple website maintenance features and easy-to-edit and update pages.

WordPress offers a lot of great functionality out of the gate and options for customization to meet your website needs. We can work with other platforms, like SquareSpace and Wix, but WordPress is our jam.

  • SEO-Optimized from the Start

    • Every site we build with SEO in mind first. It’s not an after: titles, metas, headers (H1s, H2s), and keywords to help you rank higher and get found online.

  • Website Content Writing

    • One of the main things that holds up a website development is the content. Most business leaders we work with don’t have time for that. You know what you want to update and add, but need someone to do the heavy lifting. That’s why we include website content writing in a user friendly, SEO focused way.

  • ADA-Compliant for Accessibility

    • We make sure your site meets accessibility standards, including alt text for images, proper contrast ratios, and readable font sizes.

  • Fast and Lightweight

    • Speed matters. We use .webp images, content delivery networks (CDN) when possible, and lightweight design strategies to keep your site running fast for a positive user experience.

  • We Train You to Edit Your Own Site

    • Most web companies lock clients out of making changes so they can charge for every little edit. Not us. We believe you should have full control. We train you (and your team) on everything - editing forms, uploading PDFs, duplicating pages, updating menus, and more. And if you ever need extra help, we’re here.

  • Expertise in Powerful Integrations

    • We work with all kinds of integrations, from WooCommerce and customer portals to custom forms with automation, email marketing hooks, location finders, and custom maps.

  • Mobile-Optimized for All Devices

    • Every page is designed to look and function perfectly across extra-large screens, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. We test them all for the best user experience.

  • Flexible with Hosting Platforms

    • We’ve worked with a variety of hosting platforms, including WP Engine, DreamHost, Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, A2 Hosting, and Shopify, so we know how to navigate technical support when needed.

  • Ongoing Support and Maintenance

    • Need help after launch? We’re available for ongoing site maintenance, updates, and support whenever you need it.

Why Is Website
Maintenance Important?

Building a website takes time, effort, and let’s be real, pulls you away from your “real job.”

The thing is, websites are never truly finished. It’s important to plan how your site will stay fresh and relevant for visitors. Keeping product and service info up to date, updating contact details, inventory, and more helps keep things current.

Feeling overwhelmed? No worries, that’s exactly what we’re here for! Whether you’re looking for small tweaks or a full website makeover, let’s chat about how we can help.

Step-by-Step Process

Planning & Strategy

We start with a conversation - what do you like? What’s not working? Who are your competitors, and who are you trying to reach? We’ll dig into your company’s goals and the functionality you need, whether that’s eCommerce, video, blogs, or other interactive elements. If you already have a site, we’ll assess what’s working (and what’s not). We’ll also determine your hosting platform, whether you need to migrate an existing site or start fresh. Finally, we’ll outline a clear timeline so everything stays on track.

Content Creation

Next, we map out the site’s structure with a visual and SEO-focused sitemap. We identify keywords and areas for SEO improvement while drafting and meticulously proofing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and engagement.

Design & Layouts

Our team follows your brand guidelines, using your existing assets or identifying what’s needed to improve your visuals. We create custom graphics, bring concepts to life, and present polished designs for feedback before moving forward.

Development Setup

Before making any changes, we create a development environment - this means edits happen behind the scenes, without affecting your live site. We also apply your brand’s fonts, colors, and styling upfront to keep everything consistent and make future updates seamless.

Site Build & Mobile Optimization

With the approved designs as our guide, we build out your site while making sure it’s a flawless experience on all devices - desktop, tablet, and mobile. We also use optimized .webp images wherever possible to keep load times fast.

Internal Testing & Review

Before you even see the site, we run some testing. We check for broken links, make sure SEO elements (titles, metas) are in place, verify privacy policy compliance, and review all site functionality, including forms. A third-party proofreader also checks for typos, grammar issues, and overall functionality to catch anything we might have missed.

Client Review

Now it’s your turn! We upload the development site to a platform where you can easily mark edits directly on each page. Clients often tell us this step is super smooth and intuitive.

Final Edits & Pre-Launch Prep

We address your feedback, then get everything ready for launch - mapping redirects from your old site, setting up Google Tag Manager (GTM), GA4, and Google Search Console (GSC), and double-checking domain and hosting details. Once everything is in place, we set a firm launch date.

Launch & Post-Launch Checks

On launch day, we update DNS records, monitor propagation, import redirects, and complete a final round of functionality checks. We also submit your new sitemap to Google and confirm that Analytics and GTM tracking are working properly.

Training & Support

We don’t just hand over your site and disappear. We train you on how to make updates, explain all the quirks and even provide saved templates and elements so you can easily add new sections. Plus, we record the training, so you’ll always have it on hand. We don’t consider a website complete until 30 days post-launch. This provides a warranty, meaning we’re available for edits, tweaks, and questions as you get comfortable with your new site.

Ongoing Maintenance (If Needed)

Want a completely hands-off experience? We offer ongoing website maintenance (for an additional cost), including updates to plugins, WordPress themes, PHP versions, and anything else needed to keep your site secure and running smoothly.

What Are Website Development
Factors to Consider?

Cost
What’s the price tag, and does it match the value you’re getting?

Reliability
Where is the site hosted? Is it easy to get support when you need it?

Look & Feel
How does the design look and feel? Are the user experience and design choices what you want?

Features & Functionality
What should the website do, and what extra features can help the user experience?

Performance Integrations
How well does the site perform? Are there integrations that can boost its functionality?

Maintenance
Can you easily update the site on your own, or will you need help from developers? (We design our sites so clients can manage them on their own!)

Support
Who’s your go-to for support when you need it? Your hosting provider plays a role, but don’t forget that regular updates for WordPress and plugins are important to keep the site secure and running smoothly.

FAQs About
Web Design & Development

Websites can experience downtime for various reasons, including unexpected outages or issues with your internet connection. First, we recommend clearing your browser's cache, and checking if your website is down for everyone or just you.

If you encounter a 502 Bad Gateway error, it indicates your website's server received an invalid response. We recommend contacting your website's hosting provider.

If you're seeing a WordPress Critical Error, it may indicate something broke from a WordPress or plugin update. We recommend contacting your website administrator or developer.

As always, the RED66 team is available to help troubleshoot any website issues you're having. Shoot us an email at web@red66marketing.com for assistance.

Blogging helps boost SEO quality by positioning your website as a relevant answer to your customers' questions. Think about it; search engines (like Google) love to provide searchers with fresh, high-quality content. And blogging, when done right, provides that and so much more!

Optimizing blog posts so that they directly align with what your audience is searching, internally linking blogs with your page content and vice versa, and backlinking opportunities (where another source hyperlinks to your website) are just some of the reasons why blogging is important.

These days, most people browse the web on their phones, so having a mobile-friendly site is a must. If your site isn’t optimized for mobile, visitors might leave fast, which can hurt both your SEO and conversions. A responsive design makes sure your site looks great and works smoothly, no matter what device someone’s using.

SEO is a long-term strategy, and results can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to become noticeable. Factors like your industry, competition, and website health all play a part. While it may feel slow at first, consistent, quality work pays off over time. And, when done and maintained right, you will reap the rewards for years to come. See Our Case Studies.
